Come join your fellow Education Support Professionals at a special conference designed to build your skills and grow your power!
As an Education Support Professional (ESP), you play an irreplaceable and important role in the success of our public schools and, therefore, in the lives of young people. VEA wants to celebrate and equip you at our annual ESP Leadership Conference! We’ll tackle issues including legal matters, collective bargaining, furlough concerns, racial and social justice, and more over two days on October 8-9. This is your chance to grow professionally and meet colleagues from around Virginia—don’t miss it.
The conference is open to ESPs, who are Virginia Education Association members, working in food services, buildings and grounds, secretarial and administrative services, transportation, security, classroom, or in any support role, and will feature training in topics including diversity and social justice, collective bargaining, legal issues, and legislative process.
According to the Economic Policy Institute, teachers in Virginia earn 67 cents on the dollar compared to other (non-teacher) college-educated workers. Virginia’s teacher wage penalty is the worst in the nation.
