On Thursday evening, January 30th, 2025, the VEA Fund for Children and Public Education will host a legislative reception at Sam Miller’s Restaurant, 1210 E Cary Street, Richmond. The reception will be open to VEA members, legislators, and VEA partners.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2025 (VEA LOBBY DAY)
VEA Lobby Day 2025 will be held on Friday, January 31st, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. Please share this RSVP link with your colleagues and others interested in attending. RSVP using the VEA Mobilize link. Once members RSVP, they will be added to the VEA communications list. As we approach Jan. 31st, the VEA will send periodic updates. Notifications will include lobby day logistics, hotel accommodations, talking points, and more.
IMPORTANT: VEA Lobby Day will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. in House Room 3, located inside the State Capitol Building. Please enter through the State Capitol Bldg. entrance at 700 Bank Street. We will start the day with a short briefing. Note: We will start the briefing promptly at 8:00 a.m. in House Room 3 at the Capital Building and ask that all lobby day participants arrive by 7:50 a.m. so they will have time to receive an information packet and settle in for the briefing.
After the briefing, our staff will guide lobby day participants to the General Assembly Building to meet with their lawmakers. The VEA will have designated reserved rooms there for members to meet with lawmakers, rest, and grab refreshments.
Please note: Locals may establish specific appointments with their lawmakers to meet in the lawmaker’s office OR may invite the lawmaker to meet in their designated reserved room.

Upon conclusion of Lobby Day, members are invited to the VEA Headquarters for an Open House. The VEA will host an Open House at its headquarters, 8001 Franklin Farms Drive, Suite 200, Richmond, VA, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All lobby day participants are welcome.

Parking Options for Lobby/Rally Day
Paid parking for Capitol Square visitors is available from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays, the 9th and Franklin Street Parking Deck. Parking rates are (debit or credit cards only) $5/hour or $20/day. This parking deck can be accessed by heading North on 9th Street after turning onto or crossing Main Street. Immediately after the Bank Street stop light the parking deck entrance is on the left. Along with the Google Directions, below is a map showing the paid public parking deck.
Additional Accessible Parking:
Private vehicles with handicap placards or plates can unload passengers on Bank Street near the new public entrance at 10th Street. Five parking spaces zoned for handicapped drivers are located on the north side of Bank Street, between 9th and 10th Streets, with a two-hour limit.
Other Public Parking Options:
Please note with the exception of handicapped parking, there is no other public parking on the Capitol Square grounds.
Pay parking lots and decks are nearby on 9th, Franklin, Grace, 7th, and Marshall Streets.
