Good evening,
The VEA GR team is reaching out to let you know that two VEA Priority Bills, HB 1823 and HB 1824, have been docketed for the House Early Childhood/Innovation Subcommittee tomorrow morning. These bills will more adequately fund and support English Learner services and expand the flexibility of state support.
The meeting will take place in the House Committee Room in the Pocahontas Building (900 E Main Street) around 8:30AM or so (immediately following adjournment of the full House Education committee meeting starting at 8:00AM).
Members can sign up to speak in person or sign up to speak virtually. You can also submit written testimony using that same link.
Here is a factsheet/talking points on Comprehensive Support for Students Learning English to help with your testimony or written comments.
Thank you for your tireless advocacy on behalf of students, staff, and our schools.
In Unity,
Shane Riddle, Director of Government Relations
